CS2 “The Armory” Update: New Skins & Charms!
Have a lucky charm? Or a favorite skin in CS2? If not, all that is about to change! Even if you do, that’s still likely to change. Why? Because Valve has just released their latest Counter-Strike 2 update, “The Armory”. And we love it. However, before we dive into the specifics of the update or how to get your hands on your new favorites. Let’s quickly take a look at a snapshot of this exciting new update!
The Armory Update Details
CS2 the armory update contains quite a few things. Remember, this is just a quick overview. We’ll cover all of these categories in detail. You’ll want to stick around for that, for sure.
- 100 new items: there’s a lot.
- 33 Weapon charms: yes, you read that correctly. CS2 now has a why to Buy cs2 charms that you can attach to literally any location of a gun.
- 3 new weapon collections: each collection has its wow and meh skins.
- 1 new weapons case: community created. Bet for sure we’ll find some of our favorites here.
- 2 new sticker collections: we can’t wait to play around with pairing these stickers with the new charms. We’re willing to be they created these with that in mind.
- 1 new sticker scrape mechanic: better customization here we come!
We have a lot to cover, starting with how to get your hands on any of this new stuff in the first place.
What is the Armory Pass?
The Armory Pass is, right now, essential in gaining access to any and all of the new items in the CS2 update. You’ll need to buy an Armory Pass to earn Armory credits through playing CS2 and earning XP. The XP can be exchanged for credits, which are exchanged for the items.
An important note here is that you can have 5 Armory Passes running at the same time. So you’ll build up credits faster. More credits equals more new stuff.
Where to Get Armory Pass Skins & Charms?
Since the armory update is so new, hundreds of thousands of players are in a mad rush to get as many credits as they possibly can, as fast as possible, just to get their hands on the latest items. Once that happens, you can find the new skins, charms, and stickers on third-party marketplaces like ShadowPay.
Unfortunately, right now, the only way to obtain the new stuff is by grinding your way through the Armory Passes. Which isn’t really so bad.
Introducing Charms
The newest addition to the CS family is the ability to Buy cs2 charms and attach them to your weapons. Let’s just hope the skins, stickers, and all the other cool items don’t get jealous. We have a feeling charms are going to be a big hit. Especially since you can place it anywhere you want on your weapon. There are currently only 2 categories of charms.
Let’s take a look at those now:
Missing Link Charms
This is a set of 17 charms that resemble small sausage-type figures. Think Among Us without a backpack and with arms. They range from a terrorist to an alien to a chicken to a cat. Well, you get the point. There are 17. And each one is somehow connected to CS lore!
Our personal favorite: Hot Wurst
Small Arms Charms
This set of 16 charms includes, as the name implies, small, playful versions of different weapons. There’s not a lot to say about these. Hopefully, your favorite weapon made the cut.
Our personal favorite: POP Art
Weapon Collections
We’re almost as excited about the new weapon skins as we are about the charms. As much as we love charms, we love skins. And the armory update doesn’t disappoint. Overall, there are 48 new skins within the new collections. Some great, some not. But all a fresh look. Let’s break each collection down:
Overpass Collection
This CS2 the armory update collection is inspired by “Overpass.” Each skin takes a page from Overpass’s urban setting and graffiti-filled environment.
- Number of skins: 16
- What we love about it: The map themed collection. If you love Overpass, as we do, you’ll love these skins. Well, most of them.
- What we don’t love about it: The skins “Wash me” and “Wash me plz.” Only 16 skins. And two are basically named the same thing?
- Our favorite skin: Pipsqueak…we see you in there!
Graphic Collection
This CS2 the armory collection features vibrant and bold graphic designs. They are all about artistic expression and the ability to harness the power of color combinations.
- Number of skins: 16
- What we love about it: We love graphic design, so anything connected to that is ok is our book.
- What we don’t love about it: Some of the designs seem a little too basic and plain. Nothing excites us about Astrolabe or Spectrogram.
- Our favorite skin: CMYK
Sport and Field Collection
This collection is filled with skin patterns and color schemes that are lightly connected to sports or military training.
- Number of skins: 16
- What we love about it: We love that there is a sport and field category.
- What we don’t love about it: We think Valve missed the mark completely with the collection name and skin designs.
- Our favorite skin: Fade. But only because Fade skins always look cool.
The Gallery Case
A new case filled with 18 community-designed skins. We love this. Not just the skins, but the fact that Valve brought in some fan-created work. These 18 skins and the skins in the 3 new collections bring the total new skin count to 66! However, you’ll have to wait a bit to Buy gallery case skins and Sell gallery case skins.
- Number of skins: 18
- What we love about it: Every skin is created by someone in the CS community.
- What we don’t love about it: That there is only 1 new case.
- Our favorite skin: Gold Toof
Stickers
CS2 the armory update also includes 2 new sticker collections. There isn’t a lot of info on the new stickers. However, there are a couple of cool new updates regarding stickers themselves.
Automatic Removal
Stickers can now be removed immediately instead of using the previous scraping method.
Scrape Preview
You can now preview your scrapped sticker before applying it to a skin. This cool new update may not get much attention in the media. However, we love it, and it will certainly help us customize our skins better.
Limited Edition Item
There’s a new limited edition item: the heat-treated Desert Eagle. The best part is that every single one is unique in its wear and design.
Release Notes
The Armory update isn’t just about skins and the ability to buy and sell cs2 charms and stickers. There are tons of tweaks and fixes in the CS2 release notes. From animation updates to bug squashes to, well. If you want to check out all of the CS2 patch notes, look no further than right here.
Wrapping Up
Remember, as more and more time passes, the 7-day trade hold gets closer and closer to ending. You’ll want to keep an eye on ShadowPay. We have a feeling that some of the skins are going to rise in price shortly after being listed. And who knows what the Gallery case cs2 price is going to be. If we were you, we’d stay logged into ShadowPay and keep refreshing the Gallery case cs2 market. There’s def. some money to be made.
